Supanova and Eddie Campbell

Supanova
The Supanova convention is coming into Brisbane soon, and in the interests of civic duty, Wastrel will be in attendance. As well as covering the freaks, geeks and going-ons of Supanova, Wastrel are in the process of securing an interview with Eddie Campbell.

Eddie Campbell Eddie Campbell is an Australian comic book artist. Despite his large back-catalogue he is probably best known as the artist and publisher of Alan Moore's From Hell.

If we can't track down and interrogate Eddie outside of the convention, we still plan on cornering him in his booth and picking his brain about his work, the comic book industry in Australia, comic conventions and the fans, and whatever else comes to mind.
Stay tuned... or something as equally cliched...

Wastrel vs. The Exorcist

Bob Larson vs. The Devil Many of you would know Bob Larson, exorcist extraordinare, from the John Safran Vs. God TV series, shown last year on SBS. For those who missed out, or those who are too drunk to remember, Bob Larson performed an exorcism on John Safran on the final episode of the series, 'freeing' John of any spirits he picked up in his adventures.
It made for interesting viewing, to say the least, and if you haven't seen it I recommend you go out and buy the DVD set, or just download it if ye be a pirate, merrily pillaging the seven seas of cyberspace.
Anyway, Bob's in Brisbane this weekend, doing a couple of different shows, and practically begging this aethiestic – or agnostic, or nihilistic, never too certain... – son-of-a-bitch to go down and face off with him.

At the moment, this beleaguered wastrel reporter doubts if he has the mental faculties to go toe-to-toe with a man of such strong (Ed. - read: idiotic) convictions. Only time will tell.
